At Transfer to Digital, we are professional in converting slides to digital Vancouver. Scratches, mildew accumulation, and other age-related defects are common on slides that have been packaged for a long time. A combination of an anti-static film purifier and a lint-free cloth may be effective in eliminating mold, although care must be made to wipe gently along the length of the slide rather than in a round motion to avoid creating scratches. Virtual ICE, a scratch minimization technology seen in higher-end scanners, is one automated solution for this problem. The most important aspect of this generation is the use of infrared light to find and remove dust and scratches from the final image. However, there are a few stumbling blocks in this era. It doesn't function as well with silver halide black and white film, for example. In this sort of film, silver halide granules can cause artifacts that digital ICE cannot correct. This is when manual editing is required to provide a clear, scratch-free shot. While 35mm slides are the most common, slides are also available in a variety of less common codecs.
