The polytechnic was established in 1980 with a certificate course in Library Science and Radio & TV Technology. The first diploma course in Chemicol Engg. (Pulp & Paper Technology) was started in the year 1983. The stotus of the polytechnic became grant-in-aid w.e.f. 1 April, 1990. At present, the polytechnic is organized into 6 engineering departments. All the courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Haryana State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula. The institute is committed to creating an ambience for nurturing innovation, creativity and excellence in students. Apart from the academic activities, the co-curricular activities, sports, cultural and social-service activities, form important parts of the life of the students
