Noida, India: The 17th Global Film Festival Noida continued its legacy of thought-provoking discussions with a powerful seminar on the “Future of Cinema Post Digitalisation” on the festival’s second day at Marwah Film City. The session brought together industry stalwarts, actors, and international dignitaries to discuss the transformative impact of digitalisation on the global film industry.

The seminar was initiated by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and the 17th Global Film Festival Noida. In his opening remarks, Dr. Marwah highlighted the pivotal role digitalisation has played in reshaping cinema. He said, “Digitalisation has revolutionized the film industry, from production to distribution and even audience engagement. As we move forward, it is essential to embrace these changes and understand their implications for the future of storytelling.”

The panel featured a stellar lineup of celebrities and experts who shared their insights on the subject: Poonam Yadav, renowned actress, discussed how digital platforms have opened up opportunities for regional cinema and independent filmmakers. Nishant Malkhani, actor, emphasized the need for actors to adapt to new technologies such as virtual production and motion capture. Royal Manjot Singh, actor, and Gagan Deep Singh, model and actor, shared their perspectives on the changing dynamics of audience preferences in the digital age.

Thakur Anoop Singh, actor, spoke about how digital tools have enhanced visual effects and storytelling capabilities. Mukesh Tyagi, actor, and Suchitra Pillai, actor, VJ, and singer, highlighted the role of social media in building a personal brand for artists. Preeti Mamgain, actor and President of the Screen Writers Association, discussed the growing demand for diverse and quality content on OTT platforms.

The event also featured insights from industry leaders: T.P. Aggarwal, Patron of the Film Federation of India and the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association, provided an overview of how digitalisation is reshaping film production and distribution globally. Adding an international perspective, H.E. Capaya Rodriguez Gonzalez, Ambassador of Venezuela, and H.E. Juan Antonio March Pujol, Ambassador of Spain, expressed their admiration for the Indian film industry and its ability to adapt to technological advancements while maintaining its cultural essence.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashok Tyagi, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI). He acknowledged the valuable contributions of all the speakers and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in cinema.

The seminar was a resounding success, leaving attendees inspired and informed about the future trajectory of the film industry in the digital era.
